I don't think I normally do this kind of stuff because I know I'm no one and not many will read this but I'm so utterly discussed by the treatment of some fellow (if different and much more successful) artists by the Oscars/Hollywood and as artists you really should be to!
Some of you might of noticed that face book is turning a bit green and it's because others are just as discussed by what's going on as I am.

Many people seem to think that actors and directors are the only people they really have to thank for the movies they love... but there is another 2 groups who should be on that list and that is visual effects artists and animators. They are the ones responsible for HUGE chunks of films making billions of dollars and winning Oscars.
YET they themselves are underpayed, mocked and going out of business!  These people can work up to 9 months in a row with no days off (maybe more that's just the most I've heard of). They work 16 hours a day with no sick days and often lose pay because their vfx company can't afford to pay them!
And this is not in somewhere like India or china but in America!
" Oh but all they do is push buttons the computer dose all the hard work" ...That's just lies, if that was even remotely true it wouldn't take a life time to train to do it!
In truth the computer is more like the paint, clay and puppets (made from, but not by, the paint and clay) and much of it is very difficult complex work and sometimes it is very rebellious material to work with. The computer is  NOT THE ARTIST! NOR A MAGIC WAND! And these people aren't just "editing" or "polishing".
All the fantasy, "magic" and "wow" you watch comes from these talented artists slaving with the "clay", "paint" and "puppets" for hours in a dark room somewhere.
Recently the direness of their situation has come more to light among artists and animators, with facebooks turning green in protest of the way industry is treating them (green as green screen is how all films would stay without vfx artists).


A resent public example of how wrong visual effects companies are treated can be seen in the events in the oscars around "the life of pi".
It is a beautiful film and pretty much all of that is down to Visual effects studio Rhythm and Hues.  They where responsible for roughly 3/4 of that movie. Without them life of pi would of looked like this:

Yet just as life of pi hit it's billion dollar profit mark rhythm and hues went bankrupt! Leaving their artists unpaid and out of work. How can that even be?
And it's not the only one with stories like this.
Still rhythm and hues did rightfully win a Oscar for their hard work and AMAZING visuals but how did the Oscars treat them??!
With dignity and respect like the fellow artists they are and deserve for the intense countless hours of gruelling work they put in?
...no.
They are mocked... TWICE! See for yourself:

First they mock the industry's want/ NEED of respect among it's fellow movie makers, with a ugly perforce by the Avenger's lead actors!  ALL of whom owe being up there to a Visual effects company!

And if that wasn't insulting enough for you then they're acceptance speech is cut short by a "comical" ( if only it was funny) jaws theme and mic cut off just as they start to announce their bankruptcy and the trouble their company is in thanks to Hollywood  and maybe even the ignored/ rather unreported protest going on out side(we'll never know) ...they weren't even talking for very long!!!
...and you call my generation rude and immature.
It's  just embarrassingly and disgustingly disrespectful!
Not behaviour worthy of so called professionals!
What's worse they have the nerve to do that and throw papermans producer out for throwing a few paper aeroplanes as a "yay" when they won....
It's just not funny any more!
Hollywood you're not just making little noone wantabes like me mad, you've made Oscar winners mad, you've mad almost the whole vfx world mad. Yes you screwed over writers.  But Fuck up this up and your films and the fans AKA YOUR MONEY will leave with the artists out the door.


The artists aren't asking for much. This isn't about anger or punishment or "we will inherit the earth!". Film artists and animators just want to have the equal respect they deserve,  have jobs that are stable and not like underpaid over worked sweat shops.
They just want the world to know what is happening and for it to change.
If you love films I suggest you hear them.

Finally a new name and icon! I'm changing both at the same time just to really confuse you !
So for any one reading this who's not sure who this is any more I'm Mizzi (thefoxdragon).
I know a lot of you liked my old name but for me for the past few years it really has been feeling like a old dead skin that didn't fit any more...which is pretty gross so away with the old skin!
So fresh start which will hopefully dawn a new stream of submitting !

Yes the icon is what the poll was about,I haven't gone dolally just yet. I'm just a very indecisive person when it come to which animal is the most awesome for stuff... shark won. Which is good cause thinking about it a shark does go better with my new name than a chicken anyway.

No and no~
Trust me,me and drugs would not be good.
I like my brain the way it is and I really don't need them! I find the simplest things fascinating enough with out them... I think my brain would explode if I was actually ever on something.
Besides I've met enough addicts and ex-addicts to know drugs just aren't a good idea, even in small doses.

6. Say the law allowed you to get away with one crime no matter what it was, what crime would you commit?
... mmmmmmm...
I'd need to read up on my laws and a few other things before I can decide that
... maybe put brain washing into all the ads and such of the world into make people being less selfish, vain and greedy?... at least to try and even out the opposite shit that's already in there.

7.  What hair color have you always wanted but never did? (unnatural or natural)
I use to really want to grown my hair out really long and be dark red but everyone has red hair so I felt like I'd be copying so never did :c.
I do wonder what I'd look like blonde too but I'm not willing to kill my hair to find out.

I've already meet the lovely and would be happy to meet any of my other online friends but you all live so far away :c.

... not really a question I can answer myself but the most annoying one for me is my forgetfulness the amount of trouble it's got me into in the past is ridiculous... Also talking to much at bad times and not being so good with the words... probably more traits than habits but still.

OMG!!!!!
I know the morally expected thing here on dA would to be a cheese lier and say "noone cause I wants to be unique "
but oh no!
With so many epic artists out there you can screw that when I could gain more talent!

So yeah it's just as well I can't really obtain all this talent cause I don't want to die a horrible exploding death, even if it is from being too awesome.

This here is Reaver my baby crested gecko C:.
He changes colour and patten a lot, when he's fired up he gose dark a gets stripes down his back when he's on me he's chillin he turns almost white and gets spots  when he sits on me he turns this orangey colour when he's near red things, yellower on me  and when he's on my greyish hoodie he goes slightly bluey Gray, he's magical and I love him c:.

My Nan calls him my little dragon but mum says he looks more like a baby crocodile especially when he runs Cx.

As you can see he is rather small and adorable, his name comes from a a heart shaped "beauty mark" on his nose .


He's such a funny and clumsy little thing mum says I should do comics of all his randomness and clumsiness  XD.


As for other news;
I'm still looking for a job :c, still forever working on that not much time for anything else.
You'd think being jobless meant I had all the time in the world to work on things but it really dosen't.
I'm trying to fit as much art work in as I can, currently I'm working on clean up for a friend and Storyboards for my portfolio.
But I fear that  until I can get completely off job seekers everything is going to be a mind stabbing headache :/ , they're so demanding and don't seem to understand anything I tell them, they keep making me go for jobs that involve editing and lots of spelling and grammar goodness,I'm badly dyslexic!!! I'll be fired in a week!
Ahg dear, Anyway I trudge on c:, fingers crossed something comes along soon and I'll never have to see them again !

GAAAAA kkkkkkkkk fffffff.....my tablet pen has well and truly run off >Bc.
I've ordered a new one I plan to paint it yellow and teach it to come when I call.
The search for the first one one stop though...and when I find him he will also be painted yellow >:I! Hopefully i will find it befire the other one gets here because it's going to be a while DX.
So sorry commissioners there's going to be more delay XC.

My mind has just been blown by this documentary-> [link]
Yet after finding out how corrupt the labels rain forest friendly, fair trade, free range and organic can be I'm not actually surprised just horrified.
This is not a "anti conversation" documentary it's a " educate your self about what the big conservation companies  are and aren't  doing with your money some of it is pretty shocking.
I strong suggest watching it all the way through if you are into conservation or support any of the companies mentioned...in fact even if nether of these apply I suggest watching it.

Also I am back from annecy which was awesome met some Disney people, showed my work to Paul Briggs got a lot of ridiculously good advise got a Disney pencil, saw making of rio(just realised there's not a art of book so wish I took pictures of the gorgeous concept art), saw pixar talk, got two signed David Colman books and a free signed rabbit, very little sleep, a free stress ball, a slight tan, 3 mozzy bites and I tried frogs legs( which where very nice but you'd need to kill a awful lot of frogs to get a descent meal out of them) I did more but this list is getting long and I'm sure your all bored by now.


Anyway I'm back and maybe more tired than when I left but soon I will be free from uni!!!! I wont lie when this is over I will me like : At feckinglast !

Am hopefully going to open more commissions soon to raise money for food till I get a job so stay tuned.

I have just realised I've passed my 200 watcher by two people  lol .
And so to celebrate I am offering my 200 watcher a picture and also another  free sketch too the first  two of my watches that comment here.

In other news: Uni is pretty much over which is just as well because it's been killing us all inside and out.
I'm in pain and my sleeping patterns are so messed up it's unbelievable and my confidence and hope is in a pile of confused shreds right now but we still have to work on the films.
I'm not sure is my director is planning to finish our's or not though 8I. If not I'll help out my house mate's flim, but hopeful I will have a touch more freedom to do commissions and that jazz. I hoped to do something this weekend but literally slept it away >Bc. Still the dark bags around my eyes are now no longer black hand bags and only slightly gray and puffy and my skin no longer feels like vomit woo !!!

Also I will be going to the Annecy festival on the ... 12th of June ...I think or the 5th... something like that but yay annecy! It sounds awesome!

However on the other hand I am no longer a uni student (ish) and I need to get a job in a cut throat industry that hardly exists in the UK ... ah crap.

Ok who the crap comes up with dA's "brillent" little ideas?
Because I think they need to be fired.WHY would I want people to see my old shit from years ago right next to my new stuff?WHO asked for this "more from" box thing and more importantly  why can people like me who hate it not get read of it or edit it so it shows our good stuff at least?
Also as we're at it, why can I search my own gallery but not my favs....what possible reason would I have to regularly search my own gallery more than looking up pictures of of my favourite works of art!? "derp have I ever drawn spyro ...*search* derp why yes I have !"..comeon!!!!

Poop! I just more or less finished fixing some plot holes in TTF. However to do so I need to edit the last page I posted,only a little bit but still POOP to having to go against own rules!
Also the intro is taking far to long for a intro so I'm  thinking about doing it with out colour/ will be going back and de-colouring what I have done.If I do don't worry the colour versions wont be gone gone they will just be put into scraps for now.

I am all up for breaking boundaries and telling the shocking
BUT BY GOD DA HAVE YOU NO CLASS AT ALL!

I am SICK to death of typing in something like "pirate" or "ninja" or even fucking "Crocodile" or something and getting horrific and/or repeated full on naked photos of a woman(or once in while a full on naked man) dress up as a pirate or in bondages with a eye patch on or getting a drawn picture of a slutty woman with or without a ridiculously over sized (Insert body part the person has a fetish with here) or getting two women or men dressed up as said thing wanking each other off. The worse however is the just a random shot of a penis or naked woman or vagina or boobs that DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ANY THING TO DO WITH THE SUBJECT OTHER THAN FOR SOME GOD KNOWS WHAT REASON THEY PUT IT IN THE TITLE!
Now Yes this has always been on dA and mostly I ignore it, I'm a tolerant person and it's the internet your bound to get the odd pervert/sluts art around, just don't look right?
That's what I do but when your getting flooded with it and it's getting more random it's harder and harder not to find this stuff on your screen also recently I've noticed it is getting WORSE! LOT WORSE rather than one of these pictures per 5 pages I am now getting 5 on a page! WTF DA!
What dose that say about the art community!IS THAT WHAT THE WORLDS ART TALENT BOILS DOWN TOO! A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WHO CAN'T MAKE ANYTHING THEY CAN'T CUM TOO! I don't mind boobs seriously I have them why the crap would they offend me? Same goes for the rest ( I don't have a penis or balls obviously but I've seen them they don't offend me)but it's pretty clear most of dA doesn't understand the words ARTISTIC or TASTEFUL.Maybe you should spend less time stroking your genitalia or making them all warm and fuzzy and more time looking at art gallery and studying REAL artists like davinci ! Yes Michael Angelo's David is a work of art, yes it's naked but HE SLAVED OVER IT! It oozes with talent and skill. It is a display of the knowledge this man had of sculpting and and anatomy not a "isn't his penis beautiful!","OMG I'M BEING SHOCKING!" or "LOL HOT!*CUM*"and most importantly it will not pop up if I type in "puppy"!
SHOULD I HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS DIFFERENCE TO PEOPLE OF AN ART COMMUNITY!?
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out when something is trying to be erotic!

I like pictures with blood in,I like violence, heck as I said I don't even mind boobs or tasteful nude art so I don't want to turn mature filter on ( face it, it means little anyway)but that dose not mean I want to see people vaginas or swooshed webcamed breasts or penises or fetish pictures.

This is but one of the things really starting to bug me about dA, if you want to know the other things my stamp collection has grown.
So I ask dose anyone know a good art website that actually knows what art is about and that has some class?
Cause dA is failing!
